Week 9 2022 - The End is Near

Hi Parents, students and family of Kererū students.

Our blogs this year have been few and far between,  hopefully, next year the emails home will turn into blogs that everyone will read, share and comment on.  Please have a look at our year-in-review video and leave us a comment below.

As our 2022 year draws to a close, we have many people to thank.  We seem to have the same people who always put their hands up to help with transport or supervision whenever we have school trips out of class.  To those people, and you know who you are, thank you from the bottom of our heart.  Taking time off from work and busy family lives is appreciated.

To the classroom relievers and teacher aids with some awesome skills,  thank you also.

Lastly,  we have made an 'End of Year' video montage with a few wonderful memories.  Thank you and have a good Christmas Break.

Woodend Camp 2022

Feels like we have been on camp for days.  For the first day and a half we had a lot of free time.  But then free time here is amazing, you have a basketball court, more field than two of our school ones combined, tramps, playground area, volleyball sanded area, Gaga Pit full of sand and that is not to mention the things the kids are allowed to do with parent supervision.   We are however hanging out to get to the go-karts and the climbing wall.

After Morning tea on the second day, our actual Activities started with Team building events and Climbing walls.   The events are pushing some of us and helping us work together as a team.

The food here is fantastic,  with Nachos and mince and salad the first night and Burgers for lunch not to mention the dessert and the baking that our wonderful parents have supplied us with, we are all happily fed.

Tomorrow we are off on our big day out in Christchurch.   We will have an updated report and watch our blog for some more pictures and videos.

Back to the Blogging.

Hi parents, I hope you are looking forward to the holidays like we are and staying safe out there.

We haven't done a lot of blogging in our class over the past weeks, but it looks like the issues that we have had with the student's blogs are almost over.   They will be back in a slightly different format next term, (hopefully).

I have included for you a snapshot of a day in the life of a Kererū Student.  Our weeks are remarkably busy, and with things like Cactus, which take us out of our class for almost an hour at a time, fitting everything in is often a major task.  Have a look at just one day in Kererū class.

You would have seen this week the first letter about Camp.
I have included here a link to a first Intentions Google Form to fill out.  This will be a wee bit easier than pages of spaces to fill in.
